waiting at Broadmeadows

Dear Myrtle,
Am now seated in my blueys & at a crowded table that jumps up & down so please excuse the scribble. 
You would not know me now I have my prison garb on I tell you I feel like a jail bird. You will think me longwinded in writing never the less I often think of you & often wonder if I will be unlucky as some of our first contingent & not come back, it’s a case of everyone for himself. 
We have not done much since coming here, the first night when we went to bed I thought of my nice soft bed at home & I can tell you my hips were very sore in the morning. We are up before daylight in the mornings, it hurts somewhat after being used to getting up after nine. There is a large contingent leaving here next Saturday, they think they are going straight to Aldershot. I will write to you during next week & ask you to come & see me. So with fond love Ozzie.

At present this address will find me but we will know when we will be shifted.
