Mildura Living magazine has run some wonderful profiles over the past few years on people and places in the Sunraysia region. Mildura based writer Lisa Cooper has written a gorgeous piece for the Autumn edition of Mildura Living on Oz and Myrtle's story! If you're in Mildura its pretty easy to pick up a copy - but outside of that contact Mildura Living via their website about picking a copy up before their next issue comes out. Its been a privilege to be able to read and transcribe Oz and Myrtle's letters and just wonderful to see their story being shared further afield.
Wonderful elevation of the Repatriation Commission's proposed Artificial Limb Factory for South Melbourne. I've come across a few interesting references in various papers and books about Australia's artificial limb development and production.
Returned servicemen mixing feed on Grantham Stud Poultry Farm, Grantham Soldier's
Settlement Estate - 1921. Just one of fascinating photos of life on soldier settlements post WWI which are available to view via the State Records NSW flickr feed. |
